System Components and Quality
Warranty work is time consuming, not very cost effective, and just an all around pain to deal with for both parties involved. That is why we overbuild our systems with the best technologies and materials to ensure they will provide 100% reliable service for a lifetime of use with virtually no maintenance on your part. But if something should go wrong, your investment is fully protected with a 10 year 100% Warranty on parts (Labor included if initially installed by LDT Engineering). With our rugged and time tested design, we highly doubt you will ever need to use the warranty though.
Because we custom design and engineer our Storage Systems specifically for your individual application, we can offer limitless design variations in materials, finishes, and anything else to suit your needs and wants. Please Contact Us for availability of custom options you are interested in for your particular application. We look forward to providing you a one-of-a-kind Storage System that meets your needs 100%.
Carriage System
The Carriage System is what connects to the racks or shelving and is the foundation for the entire assembly. The Carriage System distributes the weight evenly over the wheelbase and is the central mounting base for the Mechanical Assist, Drive System, and Wheels. As can be expected, strength is paramount and our Carriage Systems are made with the strongest and lightest alloys available to maximize weight capacity and ensure 100% reliability for decades to come. All Carriage Systems are 100% maintenance free and corrosion resistant.

Nuts & bolts are what holds our system together and we only use the strongest grade and class nuts & bolts on our Storage Systems. While our competition saves money with cheap self tapping screws, we only use through hole nuts and bolts to ensure our Storage Systems hold up under the most demanding situations for a lifetime of heavy use.

Track Systems
The Track System is paramount for smooth movement and reliability. An uneven / non -parallel track will drastically reduce smooth movement and cause failure in quick order. Our Track Systems are made from the strongest alloys available and are precision CNC milled to ensure a straight-parallel track that will not flex with weight or become warped with movement causing dangerous catastrophic failure. Our Track Systems are self leveling which smoothes out irregularities in the flooring below.
Pictured left is our proprietary Concave Track System which is the lowest profile track in the industry (0.434") and is fully ADA compliant thus allowing easy barrier-free wheel chair access to inventory. This Track System also has the added benefit of being easily re-usable in another installation thus doubling the value of the investment. The only maintenance needed is an occasional sweep of debris out of the groove.
Pictured left is our proprietary Convex Track System. This Track System is embedded into the flooring for the most demanding industrial applications and other special purposes. Like our Concave Track System, the only maintenance needed is an occasional sweep of debris out of the track.
Wheels
The wheels are what determine how smooth the system feels during use and our steel wheels are the best in the industry period. The circumference, bearing quality, and smoothness are unmatched by our competitors. We only use the highest quality lifetime lubricated bearings for our Storage Systems and machine the hardened steel "tire" to exacting tolerances to ensure a smooth glide of the Carriage System.

Mechanical Assist
Our proprietary Mechanical Assist Mechanism aids in moving heavy loads along the Track and also integrates several safety, security, and reliability features not found on our competitor's systems. The Standard Drive Unit has a gear ratio of 20:1 and moves up to 58,000 lbs. with as little as 7.5 lbs. of start up force and only 4 lbs. to keep in motion thereafter. Every rotation of the Drive Handle moves the Carriage System 4.5 Inches. Custom gear ratios are available.
Our Mechanical Assist uses a middle track for the drive mechanism which forces even weight distribution over flooring and also ensures perfect lateral movement of the Carriage System. Drive units may be placed at either or both ends of the carriage system depending on needs. All Drive Units are encased in all steel enclosures for durability and ruggedness in even the most demanding environments.
An Internal Blocking Mechanism is standard with all Mechanical Drive Systems to keep the Carriage Systems in place and eliminate drifting. The Internal Blocking Mechanism operates by pushing in the drive handle. To disengage the Blocking Mechanism, just pull the Drive Handle out. A key lock is an available option to secure carriages from un-authorized access.
These units come standard in Safety Yellow or Gloss Black Finishes, but may be ordered in any color to fit your needs.

Anti-Tip System
Seismically active areas need special attention due to the high risk of racks and shelving being tipped over during an earthquake. Our design is simple and effective for applications requiring an Anti-Tip System. It Consists of a bracket for each Carriage Unit that glides along a Stabilizer Bar mounted above. Again, only the strongest materials are used.
We require Anti-Tip Systems when the shelving / rack height exceeds four times the depth of the Carriage.
